What Is The GCWR on a 3500 SRW?

I can't seem to find this information on my truck. The sticker on the door shows the GVWR and the ratings for each axle, but nowhere can I find the Gross Combined Vehicle Rating (truck and trailer). Anyone know where this info is?

the only thing i have to go by is the factory specs on line. your setup is should be a little better than mine since its a 2wd but im at 16k for a trailer tow capacity and the gvw of the truck is 9900.

Motor Trend Truck Trend magazine did an AMAZING article on this, there are so many variables that effect this number it makes your head spin! Every option on the truck has some effect on it if only in added weight. The mentioned with the furds the V10 has a much higher number than the powerjoke even though the diesel could pull the v10 backward. I'd recommend you check the library in town and they will likely have the issue this article is in (has a black chivy quad cab on the front cover) and its about 3 issues back.

Actually, it's a set number determined by Dodge.

I just checked the Dodge website and found what looks to be the same info posted above:

Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) [i] = 9900 lbs
Payload [i] = 3300 lbs1
Curb Weight [i] = 6598 lbs
Curb Weight Front/Rear = 3865 / 2734 lbs
GAWR [i] Front/Rear = 4750 / 6150 lbs
Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) [i] = 21000 lbs

That means, provided I do not exceed the GAWR for the rear axle, my truck can safely tow about 13,600 pounds worth of trailer (using the 7,400 lb. weight of my empty truck with a full tank of fuel, me and my wife). Good to know.

Thanks for the help.

although this may not hold true for every state....I spoke with our local enforcement team and when they weigh a vehicle they are concerned with axle weights what i mean is if you are running a fifth wheel the weight on the pin and that of the truck better not exceed the weight rating on the door sticker for the axle. so your trailer also comes from the manufacturer rated the same way and they would only be concerned with axle ratings....they also said this is only for noncommercial vehicles ie. RV's. and in situation that dont warrent more scrutinization like an accident with injuries.
