I've looked at the sticker on the door and all over the truck as well as in the manual and on line but haven't found the published Gross Combined Vehicle Weight Rating for my '03 Dodge 2500 quad cab 4wd short box. I have found the GVWR of 8800lbs on the door sticker as well as the GAWR's for the front and rear axles. I put a fairly light weight camper (2200lbs according to the label) in the back and the scale said 9240lbs total weight. That's already 400 some pounds overweight and I wanted to tow a Jeep on a car hauling trailer behind the truck/camper combo. I did put a set of Firestone air bags on the rear of the truck and a trailer brake controller in the cab. The trailer does have brakes. Thanks for any inf. Jeff

The GCVWR is 21,000 if you have 3.73 gears and 23,000 if you have 4.10s. That is a rating put on it by Dodge but the truck can safely pull/carry much more than that. IMO, since you already have air bags.....the important thing now is the tire weight ratings.

GCWR isn't a fed requirement so the manufactors aren't required to put it on the door post tag. GVWR and GAWRs are a door tag requirement.
I have a '03 2500 QC SB Dodge/Cummins and the GVWR is 9000. I wasn't aware our Dodge/Cummins came with a 8800 GVWR in '03 ??
