water spots on glass!

I noticed while cleaning my glass yesterday, that my rear windows have bad water spots (you know like the outline of a circle, just the edges of the spot are not coming off), what should I do is the glass etched. THe truck is only 6 months old!

Probably just hard water spots. You might try some vinegar on it. There are also products at the parts stores that will work but cant think of a name brand off the top of my head. Regular ol windex type stuff wont cut it.

Scrub the window with Bon Ami cleanser. Rinse good and dry it well, then apply two coats of RainX. The Bon Ami is non clorinated and will polish the glass. RainX will dramitically reduce water spotting and make it easier to wipe off spots. Don't scrub with detergents after applying RainX.

Vinegar works best. Just don't leave any Vinegar-soaked rags in the truck when you're done!

I have a friend who owns a glass shopand they sell a kind of paste that comes with a pad to scrub them with and they also have something to apply afterwards to help prevent spots, you might try your local glass dealer. Just my .02

The only thing I trust on auto glass is "Bar Keepers Friend". You can get it at www.barkeepersfriend.com

I 3rd Bon Ami.

Lime Away also does the trick but you gotta get the stuff on your rag first. Don't squirt it on the window or else it'll run down onto the paint which you don't want.

does the bar keepers friend lime and rust remover get the spots off the window, or just the regular bar keepers friend cleaner, and does it really work?

I've been using 00 fine steel wool for years in my body shop. Works great on overspray, water spotting and crayon pencils the dealers use.

Cool Water spots

I used SOS Pads on my windshield and they worked well. Water spots were there from the dealer ship. CAUTION, do not use the pads on the mirrors! You won't like the result. I don't......
