Waiting period/delivery

Just wanted to let the forum know that I picked up my new 2500 SLT on 21 May 04. I ordered the vehicle on 23 March 04. The vehicle actually arrived at the dealer on 14 May but I wasn't "in country" to pick it up. The engine build date was 22 April and is not subject to the 'Freeze Pulg" service bulletin- according to the dealer. I have no "vibration at the 70 mph/2000 rpm area and am completely satisfied with the truck. My first tank of diesel showed 16.1 mpg with 50/50 hwy/city driving (and 70 mph or less). No complaints!

I wish my truck were here. I ordered it on Mar 13 and it still is not here. I hope mine gets the same numbers as yours. Enjoy your new ride.

Yermn,
It is certainly worth the wait. I know that a lot of folks on this site are reporting shortcomings with the 2004.5 model but, you don't hear much from the majority who are completely satisfied. I have been researching and saving for this truck for the past 6 years and it has exceeded my expectations. You didn't post where you live so I'm not sure of the delivery method being used for your shipment.
Let me know if you need the web site for the Dodge tracking system.

Yes I am waiting for mine to come thru Windsor also... I live in London.

Using the car number you posted, it has gone thru Bensenvil Il on the 25th. Of course you already know that.....

I ordered mine 16 April , built 12 MAy, shipped 30 May and due in Bensenvil 6 June to be shunted to the CPR....

I wonder if the customs at Windsor can be a problem....?

Cheers f

I have a 2500 SLT in shipment but the only way I can get the status is by calling the dealer. I have the VON & VIN but don't know where there is a web site to get the info first hand. The truck is to come into Baltimore via ocean carrier but that's about all I know.

Incidentally, this is a replacement truck for an early 04 that got lots of salt water on it and DC is replacing all the vehicles in the shipment. I duplicated the original order except this one will have the 600 engine. My current truck, with the 555 engine, has exceeded my expectations (very quiet, smooth running, great fuel economy). My previous RAM was a 1992 4X4 with the turbocharged Cummins. It was a great truck, too, but it struggled to get up to 85 MPH (early morning I-95 traffic).

FrankB, I just went on to the DC site and my truck is in Windsor. Will be unloaded tomorrow. Is yours on the same railcar? Hope so. Can not wait to see it at the dealership... It has been to long a wait!

I think it makes a difference if the truck is a 2500 or 3500, or 3500 DRW. Order for 3500 DRW was 1st of March and latest is delivery about June 17. So 3 or 4 months for DRW.

Just an update, I have been checkin on my truck almost daily, and it keeps getting further away from getting here It seems it sat at the factory for the entire month it was supposedly loaded on the railcar and on the way, and at every stop (or not stop) it has been delayed another few days! It said (as late as yesterday) it would be in detroit and unloaded from the railcar TODAY, now it is in peru indiana, and will supposedly be in detroit on the 9th Who is DC hiring to move these things, 2 guys and a snail?

Sorry, I'll shut up now, I just have the urge to have a little chat with my dealer. I realize it isn't his fault, but it is the company he works for! Anyone know who I can write to OR at, so I can enlighten them on how happy a customer I am??

How about this....

My truck went D1 on 31 May 04.

I check it today and it's still D1, but this time it says "Scheduled for Build (D1), 06-08-04".

What gives? Is it being built or not?
