truck trading value

i like to trade trucks every year and it just about time to trade my 03

i have found a 04.5 at a dealer but it is a 555 instead of a 600

the 555 is what i have now and i have no problem with its power and i have drove the 600 and cant tell any difference

but i am wondering if i buy this one being a 555 it will not sell well or be worth less because of so much hype of the 600

does anyone think this will make a difference or will it be worth less being a 555

Look for the 05's. Most dealers already have them on the lots. As of right now there isn't much difference but atleast you will have the latest and greatest

I thought all the 04.5s were 600s? Did you check the engine plate?

this truck must have been setting on the lot for a good while because i pulled up the window sticker on the dealer site and it list it as a ho and says nothing about it being a 600 which the window sticker should state

it also has the lower price for the engine i think it is 5250 verses the 54?? for the 600

If you go back by there just check the data plate on the drivers side of the valve cover. 305 or 325, if it really is a 04.5 then it has to be a 600.

The 600 is the HO and the only engine offered except for the HEMI diesel

update

went back and looked at the truck window sticker again

i guess it is an early build 04 and not a 04.5 build

it seems this truck was built in late 03 but it is still sitting on the lot which seems unusual but i guess it could happen

i noticed the window sticker says 04 on both the 04 and the 04.5

Go for it

I would definitely grab a '04 instead of the 600, because of the better mileage and fewer problems of the 555 engine. I think it would have better resale value, at least to those "in the know."

I agree. I'd stick with the 555.
