Tow mirror glass removal?

Did Dodge change the way the glass is mounted in the tow mirrors? I want to remove mine, but it looks different than my FSM shows. I saw some pictures in a different thread but they're the same as the FSM shows. From what I can see, there's no metal spring clip in my mirrors. Also, they are oem dodge and no, they are'nt the ones in my avatar.

They just pop out. Point the mirror all the way down to the grounds and get in behind it and yank it out.

Are you sure? Sounds like a good way to break my brand new mirrors. I would think there would be some kind of clip or something.

There was a post on here, last year I think, where a guy had pulled his mirror off to flip the left side with the right side in order to reposition the blind spot mirror. Maybe try a search?

Yep, that was the thread I was referring to in my original post. Some good pics, but mine don't seem to have the metal clip shown in those pics. Thanks anyway!

You cant see the clips unless its apart. I know they pop out beacuse i just broke my mirror yesterday, see my post in this section. There is 3 metal srping like clips and a plastic disc the snaps on to the motor assembly. Just dont pull on it by the blind spot mirror or it will break for shure, but i poped mine in and out 3 times yesterday while trying to fix my mirror. I dont have a camera or i would show you some picks.

O.K. I'll give it a shot. The 3 spring clips sounds like what I've got. Do you aim the mirror down in the tow position or with it folded down? Do I just pull straight out or is ther a trick to it? TIA.

I aim it down in the folded down position. Just try and reach in and you will feel the disc, it only snaps on with a little hub the size of a nickle but the disc itself is as big as a coster and locks on the mirror with tabs that you have to slide the mirror and disc in oppisite directions, The disc has holes and the glass has tabs, you set the tabs in the slots and slide it over. You can try just sliding the mirror itself either in to the door or away from the door and the glass might release that way but i never tried it that way.
