TIPM Trailer Brake Controller Question
TIPM Trailer Brake Controller Question
I knew last week that I needed to get my TIPM flashed and reset plus install a Modulite on my 2006 Megacab because my left trailer stop/turn lights were not getting any power at the 7 way plug. However since we're going on a trip in a few weeks I had already brought the trailer home to put new wheel bearings in. After accomplishing changing all the bearings I went to take the trailer back to storage and the trailer brake control unit was flashing SH @L and NC. The right stop/turn has no power now either. I will be getting the TIPM flashed in a couple of days and will be installing the Modulite Friday. My question is could the lack of any power to the stop lights be causing the codes on the brake controller. I really don't want to pull the hubs again just to verify the placement of the magnets and condition of wire connections if it is not the problem. A friend is going to bring his
Ford over and hook up to the trailer tomorrow to see what the controller does but I wanted to see if anyone had this issue with the TIPM failure before so I know how to proceed.

The brake contorller needs a brake indicator to know when to apply power to the magnets, usually the brake light signal is what provides that.
I don't know how your truck is wired internally but no brake lights do make sense for your contorller problems.
