first year for the TIPM was 06, but i understand in all other 3rd gens they were split up in two seperate boxes. in 06+up they were combined to the TIPM.

Same thingmhappened to me in nevada last summer. stopped for fuel at flying J came out no start. all power was there but no start. had truck and trailer towed 60 miles back to nearest dodge dealer. next morning service manager called me. said truck started. tech said tipm was reflashed. he told me if it happened again to pull two fuses in the fuse box wait 5 minutes and should start. well drove from there to indianapolis stopped for food, came out no start. did as the tech said, and truck started. got home to ohio took it to my dealer and told him of my situation. he said the truck had not taken the reflash to up the voltage,as the tech in nevada had said. my dealer said if it had been done then the star scan tool wouldn't let him do it. any way its been over 25,000 mi. now and no problem. so knock on wood. also I did lower the voltage on my prodigy brake controller just a bit.

Yes the reflash was to raise the trailer lamp amps. I will check the fuses and let you know, there easy to see,and you just pop them up.

cool i read thru all the TSBs and that was the only one on the TIPM so i made sure to have them do it on the new TIPM i got. hopefully this is the only problem i will have with it.

Not to worry though....i have owned quit a few DC products and these type of electronic gremlins seem to be "normal"!!!!!
The exact same thing happened to me in Feb. 2008 and just yesterday after driving 60 miles, stopping and shut truck off, it would not stay running more than 5 seconds. I started the truck 3 times in a row and same thing (run for 5 seconds and stalls). I check for error codes (cycled key 3 times) and no error codes. I then pushed the lock and unlock buttons on the key with the key out of the ignition. I tryed one more time and it fired and stayed running. This truck makes me nervous with only 13,000 miles on it. Does anyone know if the dealer can disable the chip in the keys and the ignition so they don't have to talk to eachother in order to start? I know that this is a security feature but I would rather take a chance of the truck getting stolen then leave me stranded somewhere in the boonies.
