Tipm
Are the TIPMs prone to failures or have they been acting pretty good. If i am having mine replaced for no wipers what are the chances it will fail again.
I have done some searches and it doesnt seem to find too many guys with problems with them so i was just curious what you guys think about them...

the tipm on my 06 freaked out last week...left it running while filling up at night...get in and drive off and as soon as i pull out into the street the horn starts a continious hoooooooonnnnnnnnkkkkk, i pulled over and shut it down...still honking....pulled the keys...still honking????then it just stopped but the door ajar light was on and the cargo light was on and would not turn off??? the truck started again without the honk...but could not get the door ajar light or cargo light to shut off.... so i get a wrench to disconnect the batts when all the sudden the cargo light shuts off....and everything is back to "normal"....no probs since?????
Not to worry though....i have owned quit a few DC products and these type of electronic gremlins seem to be "normal"!!!!!

All of the DC products you owned had electrical problems? were they serious problems? that affedted the drivability of the truck? how long did it take to fix and did it ever happen again?

I've been having problems with my NAV system, they swapped out the NAV for a reconditioned unit (they don't replace with new units) and it is still having the same problems...now they (DC tech line) believe it may be the TIPM or the cluster that is causing the problems. I have been to the dealership now 6 times which is a major PITA as the dealership is a 45+ min drive each way and I usually end up sitting around there for 2 or more hours while they try different things...I think if they haven't figured it out the next time they call me in, I'm going to submit them a bill for my TTT (travel, truck and time) the way I figure it they (DC) owe me just over $4000 at this point and they've never had a problem charging me for their time.
