Same as here, Trik396. Haven't been on TC in quite awhile. Sold my chevelle. My truck is my only toy right now. I remember being involved in quite a few posts with ignition man, racer1320 and yourself..... the good ole' days.

Same **** thing happened to me yesterday with my spare. I tighned it up with the shaft. Now all these posts are makeing me wonder if the winch locking mechanism is week or faulty.
I heard the clunk too but though it was stuff I carry in the bed. Then when I crawed to the ugly side to see if I could fit a 305 size tire there the spare was hanging there like a swing
