Do the dealers stock those rubber looking fender extensions that are on the Powerwagons? I think those look real nice.

Might be a nice addition to my lowly 6 cylinder not a PowerWagon Dodge. If I added those and a front winch I could pretend I have a Power Wagon, right?

The fender flares on the PowerWagon are the same as the Bushwackers. They look identical and mount the same.

the power wagon would almost be cool for a factory 'wheeler if it had the 6.1 HO hemi as a base and the little six cylinder option. but it doesn't. I'd rather buy an 03-'04 2500 and put a KORE system, a custom bumper with lights/winch and a front ARB for about the same price as the nopower wagon. zippedy-do-da it has a actuator for the sway bar, so what? Oh doesn't it have electric lockers or something special?

if I wanted to buy a new factory 'wheeler I'd get a TDI Liberty or a Wrangler. even then I'm not sure if I would, I seem to hear nothing but horror stories about DC service/warranty...I can only imagine the nightmares that guys are going to have trying to get their "offroad" edition PW trucks fixed under warranty WHEN drivetrain/suspension pieces break from off-road use.

not for me! but I wouldn't mind driving one if someone else owned it...good reviews from off-roading mags, not good enough for a $45k price though!

According to Bushwacker, the fender flares on the PW are not supplied by them. They do not stick out as far as the OE style Bushwackers, are more parallel to the truck, and are taller than the Street style Bushwackers. I want some PW fender flares for mine too, just having a hard time finding them.

I'd like to track down a set of the PW fender flares also. I think they're better looking than any of the aftermarket offerings. Not too big, not too small, just right.

Just for fun, I ballparked what it would take to upgrade to a diesel power wagon. Many of these numbers are guestimates. Also to compare apples to apples, I included installed prices since that's the way you get the powerwagon.

I checked the powerwagon sticker price, w/ clearance lights, at my local dealer -> $41K + change
to build up my SLT ($31.1K) to a PW, I'd have to do the following:
Kore - Chase 2500
Kore install 500
new 265 tire swap w/ new 285s 200
Arb rear locker (not yet available) 800
Arb front locker 800
Arb compressor 200
Arb install 1200
Sway bar disco assembly w/ sway bar 500
Sway bar install 300
4.56 front/rear axle 800
4.56 install 800
Clearance lights & install 300
Rock rails 300
Rock rail install 200
tow package 275
tow package install 100
tow hooks & install 150
winch bumper 800
winch bumper install 100
12K winch 1000
winch install 200
skid plate assemblies 600
skid plates install 200

total 11,825
diesel power wagon = $31.1K + $11.8K = $42.9 K

Based on this, I don't think the Power Wagon is priced too badly.
Yeah, go ahead and beat me up over the numbers.

really nothin to beat you up over, you're pretty close...like I said it'd be about the same price as a new PW. I'd probably enjoy the headaches of doing the work myself and may be able to save 2 grand or more on install prices. A 2500 cummins with a 6spd would be SOOOOOO much nicer than the lil' hemi!! Not to knock the hemi, it's a great engine, I've driven a magnum R/T and a grand cherokee- those things are FUN! It's just not enough grunt to 'wheel a full size truck.

mestdagh, are you seriously thinking about doing that stuff? that'd be an AWESOME truck! I'd like to be able to do that stuff but then I remember that I'm squeezing my budget to be able to afford an airbox and exhaust... It's all in my head, my bank won't let me do it and so far I haven't found anyone that wants to sponsor my truck

my .02

You won't need the 4.56 -- go with factory 4.10

the front sway bar disconnect is cool, but I personally would not want it

I want the fender flares and the winch

e-lockers would be nice and the rock rails would be cool if you could get power steps to swing under them.

I think that you could a truck that is badder, more capable, with the cummins than what the PW offers for the same if not less $$$

jon96ctd, It'll be awesome when I'm done but I won't build it as Dodge makes it now. Some stuff I probably won't do like the front locker, 4.56 and winch/ winch bumper (too heavy for rock crawling on our Cummins trucks) but I'll do other mods which Dodge didn't think of. I'm on the 5 year plan for build out. Any faster and my wife will divorce me

I'll post my build out plans when I have time.
