sound systems??

I have been looking for a solution to putting some subs in my truck. I had an audi s4 with one 15" alpine sub and i know that thats to big to fit in the back unless if i want to loose a seat. I was wondering what some of you guys have been doing as far as putting some bass in the stock infinity system?

I just purchased this off of ebay (click here) , I haven't even taken it out of the box to inspect. It is loaded with a JL Audio JL10W6V2. I think I paid around $400 for the entire package. I will let you know how it looks when I get around to opening the box.

I just took it out of the box, buy this thing! The quality is there! Looks factory to me, other than the down firing JL sub poking out of the bottom. Go to the ebay link and email this guy to see what he can do for you. I know that you can get a 12" sub in there easy.

I think one 10" sub should be fine, at least for me. Remember, this thing will be about 2' from your right buttttt cheek, you should have no problem "FEELING" the bass.

As far as an amp, no clue yet. I had 3 JL amps in my Kenworth, but they were stolen, along with the truck and trailer. Got the trailer back, found it headed towards mexico. Never found the truck or stereo.

ah sorry to hear about that man that sucks. I know they can make them with 12's but there is not enough air down there for 12's. I have not found a 12 shallow enough either, the 12W6's or alpine are deep subs. I have been told if i do that with 12's they will sound like **** and i would have waisted my money.

I was just on ebay looking for amps and speakers. I am leaning towards the Memphis Belle 600watt 5 channel. Hook up one amp, and be done with it. My problem is, I want to keep the factory radio. But the thought of running a line out RCA adapter makes me sick

I was looking at the Alpine CDA-7998, it is a little bigger then a regular head unit. I hate the way a non factory radio looks in the dodge. Plus, I loose the steering wheel controls, I like those. Crutchfield has an rf/ir device that you can use to control the radio with the steering wheel controls, know anything about it? I never have luck with those types of things.

I don't know, time will tell.

The pictures on the Ebay auction look like pre '03 models. Do the enclosures for the 3rd gens have the same shape as the OEM seat. Any pics? Do they come in leather?

Mine looks factory, right down to the upholstery. Looks the same size wise, haven't had time to mess with it, putting in a barn right now. Go to the ebay link and email some of the guys that have it installed. I know the guy selling/building them was real quick to respond to emails, give him shout.
