Re:Exhaust systems???

Waayyy Cool JT! Can you give us more details? Sound quality, does it have the 'ricer' tone some have complained about? Does it have a 4" primary pipe then split into dual 3" or 4"? What does it have for a muffler? Is it SS?

Vaughn

Re:Exhaust systems???

My system is 4" T304 SS from the Turbo to the tips. IT enters the muffler 4" and leaves as two 4" outlets.THe muffler is SS aswell. There is an odd sound, but it is deeper then before. It does not sound like my 12 valve. The first thing I noticed was the motor revs like crazy, Now when I pull into an intersection when the raods are damp, as I shift into second and roll on the throtle, the truck goes sideways. Ihaven't done any intake mods as the Bully dog intake is back ordered. Just the other day I installed the Bully Dog box(82hp). I need a rev limiter now.

jt

Re:Exhaust systems???

Thanks for the comments JT. It would be interesting to hear what it sounded like. A dual stainless system for under $1K isn't bad. Are you happy with the quality of it and did the install go smoothly? I like how the tailpipes are angled out.

Vaughn

Re:Exhaust systems???

The quality was great, I checked out the welds when all of the parts where on the floor. It used the factory hangers, and a couple of extras that they sent. The extras used holes that were already in the frame.I will post a sideways shot when I load them from the camera.

jt

Re:Exhaust systems???

I just had a 4" Diesel Transmission Technology (DTT) turbo back system installed on my '02. I am pleased with the overall sound of the system. Underway at 1600-2000 RPM, the sound inside and outside is not much different than the stock pipe. But, when you step on the "GO" pedal, there is a definate bite to the exhaust note. The muffler is a straight thru design, and seems to let the turbo noise pass thru while attenuating the low frequencies. It gives that "big rig" whistle sound which is fine with me. 8) The alumininized system came with hangers and clamps, and required the trimming of one pipe as the system comes supplied for the longest possible wheelbase. By swapping the muffler end for end you have a choice of a "loud" or "quiet" installation. I opted for the former.
