Soft top bed shell

Anybody out there have one? Do you like it? Any issues?

I want a bed shell that will be used sparingly (traveling with my dogs). Seeing these soft top shells has me convinced that it's exactly what I need.

Buddy of mine from KY has one on his 99...He travels with it up when he's got the dogs in crates in the back. As far as I know he's never had an problems with it and loves it. Looks really nice on his white 2500.

I bit the bullet and ordered one of these. I liked the tinted (removable) windows and easy take-down process.

I ordered a Best Top a couple of years ago, installed it and promptly returned it. The 3rd Gen beds are wider at the cab than at the tailgate and it was sitting on the bed rails by only 1/2" in the front. The rear fit was just the opposite. Hope your Softtopper takes into account the dimensions of the Dodge bed. I gave up on waiting for Canback to build a top for me. Can't wait to see pics.

After installing it (Best Top)...that is the case. I was a bit surprised by that difference in width, as well. But I have enough on the rail to hold it snug. It looks a little odd because of that but for as little as I will be using it, I can live with it.

I'll post some pics on Monday. Heading out camping tomorrow until Sunday.

One idea that I had considered was to cut a couple pieces of 1/4" aluminum the length of the bed, bolt them to the bed rail, and have the top sit on that (like a long, thin triangle). This would allow the symmetrical top to sit on the asymmetrical bed.
One of the reasons that I returned the Besttop was that Canback was promising to build a top for the Dodge, but after waiting for 3 years I have given up. Their website even showed one sitting on a Dodge, and having seen one in person I was very impressed. Too bad.
Looking forward to the pics.
