Shocks
Makes perfect sense. The OEM shocks are sloppy - I had a lot of body roll cornering with mine and the front end would bottom out on the smallest of bumps. Install of my 5100's took care of most of that and the Timbrens completely eliminated the rest. I am a believer that OEM shocks are sloppy to the point of being a contributing cause to ball joint premature wear on the 3rd Gens.
I replaced the shocks in my '98 as soon s I bought it as well. 9 years later, everything appeared as tight as the day new - never touched the front end for any work and ran oversize tires on it as well.

I recently installed KYB MonoMax shocks at 33K. Still rides stiff over bumps, but handles speed bumps much better than the stockers. Also seem to have increased traction slightly, as strange as that may sound.
I run Bilstiens on verything I have had for 18 years for a reason. They do as much for ride as any high end shock does. They dampen the bounce and they do it very well. But Mocho has a point in the fact that I always wait until the stock shocks are shot to replace them.
The ride is only half of the reason I use them, I install one set of Bilstiens and never have to do shocks again. I did get one bad one on my Dodge van and they replaced it right away and that was 150k miles ago.

Installed the Bilsteins today. Keeping my suspension stock so I got the yellow HDs. I hate the yellow, so I shot 'em black. They look awesome with the blue over black.
What I noticed is less body roll in corners, softer ride on rough dirt road, and better braking (the front doesn't dip anywhere near as much).
