While I have no expertise on the merits of good vs bad shocks, your 1st post states that all 4 were leaking oil or blown out. It sounds to me like the wrong length shock was used. I 'm probably wrong, but for all 4 to suffer the same fate with so few miles, it sounds like they were over extended and pushed pass thier design limits.....maybe?

Just a thought

Bilsteins are a mono tube design, much like the high end race shocks, but they're not serviceable and use rubber bushings instead of bearings. They're not as robust as a race shock either but they do have similar designs.
not to hijack the thread, but are you running don's springs? if so, what shocks are you running with them?

i know don's springs are softer than the lorenz, so i was wondering about highway ride- for instance, 55-70 mph through some hard cornering. any nose diving or soft feeling because of the softer springs?

Oh no, nothing like that. The springs are soft, but the shocks do there job and stop any of that nonsense.

The shocks were part of the kit............if they were the wrong length it would still be there issue It also has 37" tires, too much weight for a cheap shock to control.

thanx for the info- the thing that seems to keep me from running those springs, is the price of those kings.
