So I was in the bar today and a friend asked me about my truck. As I was telling him about it a Chevy guy came up and told me I was full of it(he is a hummer dealer). So I continued to tell my friend about my truck while the Chevy guy told me I had nothing. So the Chevy guy goes “your truck in the lot? I want to see this.” So we went out and he told me no way can a straight 6 move a 7000 truck. We went for a ride and when I dropped him off he was saying no kidding that is a sick truck. Note I am almost all stock!!!! Why do people question the power of the Cummins??

I got a friend who has a 1999 Ford Mustang. He keeps sending me pictures of how fast he drives this thing by taking pictures of his speedometer. So I jokingly said hey wanna race my diesel when I'm coming through Texas. He said "What in your slow poke truck." I just laughed, then he says, my mustang is souped up, and got it up to 320 HP. I just laughed and said, my truck stock has 325 HP and 650 Ft lbs of Torque. He didn't say anything he just started talking about how he can't stand his Ex-wife.

 

I test drove an 04 with a 6 speed sometime ago. Saw a durathing coming down the road at me so I pulled out in front, spun in first gear, second spun, third spun and when I hit fourth it barked the tires and I was running up on 60mph....what a RUSH!!! Ain't nothin out there like the Cummins in a pickup....

 

I should have bet him something but it was worth it to me just to see his reaction as we were doin 75 by the end of the on ramp. He was shocked that a 3/4 ton truck could put him back in his seat. Him working for a Hummer dealer he hears people talk trash all the time and not many will back it up. Oh well it was fun for me just figured that I would share.

Just the other day 2 friends of mine, 1 w/ stock 2006 3500 4x4 mega cab the other w/2005 Ford f-250 4x4, 60HP chip & 4" exhaust had a race. The Dodge blew his doors off. He was so choked he said he was going to trade his truck in. Tee hee.

 

I think a lot of the "Dodge can't be fast" mentality out there centers around experience with the 1st and 2nd Gen stockers. A good friend at work was pulling the same old "Dodge truck's can't get out of there own way" montra, stating that you need at least 2-3 mile clear shot to pass anyone on the highway...until he got a ride in mine. He's since changed his mind.

Alot of people in this world have no clue what power is. They say things and then when you prove it thay fall all over you like a kid in a candy store.

so i did the exact opposite really. since i have a cummins in my truck i love to talk some **** to guys with dodge diesels, cuz i know i can take them in short runs and they think when i say i have a diesel in my chevy itis a 6.2, but when i fire it up they kinda **** cuz it doesnt sound like a 6.2. then with the brakes lights blaring, i proceeded to put it to the floor and turn the duals over and the guy that was sitting next to me, owner of a 96 2500 dually 5 spd, said **** when my truck shifted into 2nd and kept on rolling them over. but for some reason my black smoke out did his grey smoke and he still thinks his blows black. **** kids that have a dad that buy them what they want. but i had fun but i wish i had a camera to picture his face. it was priceless
