"Service Required"
OK, truck just gave me a "service required" today followed by a "see dealer now" on the overhead computer!
I have not done any code checks yet as my Smarty is at the office but thought i would just throw this out there and see what's up!!!
BTW.....truck runnin fine!

How many miles are on the truck? if they are around 67,000 then you need to replace the CCV filter under the valve cover. Do a search and you will find how to reset the overhead and where to buy the CCV filter.
Another issue could be the truck is looking for a regen for the DPF and all you need to do is clear the warning with your Smarty. This will happen every 1000 miles or so, on some trucks.

egr valve needs cleaning and some other filter, mine goes off every 15,000 miles for some reason and i take it to the dealer for the work...it is in the manual somewhere and explains it..no charge at the dealer ,just a pain in the a??.

Anyhow,

OK.....first i tried the "key on/off" thingy that's described in one of the sticky's! Apparently does not work on an '08!
Second i hooked up the smarty, ran DTC check and came up with "no stored codes", or something like that. I then chose the "clear codes" selection and it has not come on since then!
I probably cleared out the "your truck is about to blow up but we are not gonna tell you" code!

I got the same message today, the key on fuel pedal 2x, brake 2x key off didnt work after several attempts.
I hooked the smarty up and read the codes, no codes found.
Then I cleared the DTCs and it seemed to make the message dissapear
