Do any of you all have a remote start?
Does it have a wamr up or something for the "glow plugs" before it actually starts the truck?

No glow plugs here. We have grid heaters, but to answer your questions remote starters are no problem. I have one my 2nd gen. They just wait until the "wait to start" light goes off then it starts.

I had the MOPAR remote starter installed by my dealer, it was a little more expensive than the aftermarket, but it is covered for the full term of my warranty, works awesome. Found 1 little qwirk with it that took a few times to figure out, when the low fuel lamp is on, it won't start the truck.

It was around $600.00 complete with tax, but thats in Canadian $$$$$
Don't know what to recommend for aftermarket, I was more comfortable having my dealer do it.

If you go with the Mopar the install is the easiest so if your not an experianced installer it's the best way to go. I believe the dealerships are around $500 installed. The aftermarket systems start the truck the same, and often have more options you can get like keyless entry which isn't available from Mopar without carrying 2 remotes. If you go aftermarket I'd reccommend a DEI system, they have alot of brands but they are the best systems I've installed (I've done a few!) they make Viper, Python, Automate, and tons of others. Many of the newer DEI systems also have a built in turbo timer, if the truck is hot you hit the button on the remote take the key out and the truck stays running for 1,3, or 5 minutes to cool off.

I have a compustar one.. I believe it is also made by dei. It was a pain in the you know what to install it took the professional installer 8 hours to get it right. It was $550. installed. two way remote so that you know when it is running and also has the turbo timer. I just hit the e-brake pedal and turn the key off. It runs for 3 mins then shuts down. love it...
