Chrysler Remote Start & 315?
Chrysler Remote Start & 315?
I was going to have a remote start put into my new 2004 1 Ton Diesel 6 Spd until I was told that it’s going to cost me $600 to $700 Cdn. I have talked to several shops in Edmonton and the story is the same. It appears that with all of the new computer modules, security etc in the 2004’s that it’s 5 hrs plus for the tech. Is there any word if Chrysler is going to have their own come out as a “Plug and play” as an aftermarket item for about half of what it’s now costing on the market?
If it’s going to be this kind of money then maybe I might be better off getting one of those small diesel fuel heaters that burn around a quart a night to keep the motor warm.
Has anyone figured out a way to recalibrate the speedo to accommodate larger tires such as the 315’s?
Thanks
TK

I have the "Gray Key" system big problem but I think there is a go around and a remote start at you may want to check it out they have a good selection

We just got a quote to install a remote start on my girlfriends 90 Focus with a security system - was around $250 just for install. I dont think your quote was anything unusual, whenever your adding a starter to a security system it's a headache. Also, a remote starter on the 6 speed adds extra expense as well.
I can tell you lots about Espar heaters though....they work excellent. I have one and would not own a diesel without one. Set it up to come on two hours before you leave for work, it turns on warms the truck, defrosts the windows and you get into a warm truck. Not sure what they cost now, but I do know they are more than $700. Visit or call David at Cummins in westend Edmonton.
