I seem to have some water dripping in from the top of the back window - not a slider. I dont know if it is the window seal, or is there a body seal there? Truck is only 2 yrs old, 41,000 miles, so I am out of warranty.

I dunno if it could be near the edge of the third brake light?

Anyone have this problem?

More than likely 3rd brake light. Take out the two screws remove the light. Just a preformed weather strip between the light and the body. Either add a little RTV to each side or get some non-porous weather striping and make your own. The factory weather stripping dries and cracks over time then drips from the very back of the headliner at the top of the back window.

There was a TSB for poor rear window seals as well. But if this is the first you have seen it leak in two years then I would bank on the 3rd brake light. The window seal would have leaked from day one.

I've had the 3rd light leak on my 1994 and my 2002, I've also had to have my rear window pulled and reinstalled on my 1994 for a leak.

Money is on the 3rd light.

I am in the same position as you. My truck is still under warranty though. Only problem is after taking it to the dealer twice they say that they cannot reporduce the problem therefore they do not what to fix. I was told by the service manager to bring the truck in while it was raining. This last time I took pictures of the area where the water was coming in. He still said he needed to see the truck when it was raining. My response was that this is a problem that Chrysler is aware of so I figured that you would know how to fix it right. He tried to tell me that each truck is different so he would need to see it leaking to fix the problem. I would take it to another dealer but I dont have time to drive an hour away. For now I just make sure that there is a towel in the back window to catch the water. I figure that a five star dealer should be able to handle the problem. Right? Anyway sorry for the vent, let us know what you find out. I would love to know.

My 3rd brake light would leak after going through the car wash.

I took out the screws that hold it in place, and ran a bead of silicone around the light. Then re-installed.

Hasn't leaked since.

Thanks for the info guys, I am gonna pull it off tomorrow prob. I have a stupid question though...If I silicone around the light, wil I be able to take the light off? Like if I have to replace the bulb?

Mine is doing the exact same thing and I have 42,000 on mine. Will do the silicone tomorrow too.

Just get the silicone that stays flexible when it dries. If it were me, I would go ahead and put some around the back window too. Just do a good clean job and nobody will know you did it....

Hey guys, its been a while - I forgot to update you all, but I figured some ppl might want to know that I did fix the leak - I used some 3M strip calk: 08578

I removed the old (crappy) weather strip, and carefully placed these strips in place, 2 rows next to each other and remounted the light - took 15 mins, no more leak!

I cant believe how crappy the OEM foam seal was

I was gonna say 3rd brake light too. A very careful light bead of clear silicone, carefully placed. Just enough to do the job.

While your at it, get a 3/4" hose and shove it onto the end of the ac drain and then zip it to the frame. The next thing will be the ac drain seal drying out allowing water to drip under the front carpet. Add the hose before it starts.
