Cool Racing Seats.. anyone done them???

i was just thinking today and thought it might be cool to have some racing seats in the truck.

Has anyone done this? and would it be possiable to make them work with the factor adjustable seat stand?

any thoughts on this idea appreciated

I could see that as a long term plan for mine as I kill the factory seats. At $400 or so per seat the race seats are cheaper than a leather factory upgrade.

I've had Beard super seats in my rockcrawler for the past 8 years. They are comfortable for long days in the saddle on and off road, but not daily. The high side bolsters get tiresome for daily driving after you smash your testacles getting in a few times and they pretty much eliminate your ability to carry a sidearm on your belt. The 5 point harnesses also get tedious for daily use. I found myself using just the lap belts around town. They make some seats that do not have as high side retention, which would be my choice for the Dodge. Mastercraft, Corbeau, and Sparco also make nice seats.

Personally I wouldn't go with seats like the ones pictured above, but it is personal choice. I don't see myself using a 5 point harness in the CTD, so I wouldn't want the extra width on the top of the seat from the wide shoulder belt guides. The beard seats use a Y shaped shoulder harness that uses a single hole behind the neck.

it takes getting used to.. you cant move around at all even by just closing the center console is awkward. but for comfort im happy with it i took the truck from houston to new york ny and never had back pains. the reason why i wanted a racing seat so can be snug inside the truck the factory seat feels like a sofa espacially the leather i slide around alot.. overall i like it

Anyone else perform this? I want to do this as well, but just need to get an idea on the seat brackets that attach it. Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.
