Exclamation AIM rear drop shackels whos heard of them or even used them on our dodges?

Got the info from a guy on here, thanks by the way- and got them ordered should be here today. After returning the front to stock i again hated the rake, removing the 2 rear blocks wasnt enough. These aim lowering shackels should do the trick, thier very affordable and supp. adj from 1-2" of drop im thinking i need all 2" well see. Thier made for our 2500 and 3500 trucks, i was sure proud that someone makes them, i thought i would have to live with the rake, ill post the details when i get them and install them.

i did a post while back.

if you shackle the rear down in a 3500,

it will just drop the rear onto the Helper springs, and prolly ride like a brick.

but i think the limiting factor will be sitting on the helper spring perches.

I bet your right, didnt really think of that. Has anyone run into this if its sitting right on the O.L. it will prob. be bad. I just looked thier prob. 3 inches from them now so ya the shackles are going to put them close. Anyone done this?

There isn't enough shackle length to drop the rear 1-2"

I bet if you install those shackles, it will lift the rear of the truck.

They were designed for the older trucks that used extension shackes. We have compression shackes.

We will see. They asked if they were below or aboves and also if they were short or long. Being a 2wd 3500 04.5 thiers only 1 option. Hope they get it right.

Rule of thumb, for every one inch longer shackles you get one half inch raise/lower. So for two inches of lower the shackles have to be four inches longer. Also remember this is going to change the pinion angle and could cause some vibration.

After installing the aim shackles they hit the frame. This limited the shackle movement and the resulting position kept the ride height the same as before I installed them.

Man the same thing happened to CLeger67, he made his work by notching out the area affected. I called the company and told them this and they said he had gotten the wrong shackles that if he had recieved the correct parts there is no interferance porblems. I still have'nt gotten mine to compaire mine to his. Was the part number to yours SHA-Doo2xx? And yours are the short ones that are under rather than the over style. They were supp. to be priority overnight to me today by noon. Ya right been hearing this for over a week. I just hope thier correct, so did you send yours back- did they give you any problems with it? You are ok with it as is are have you found another solution. Thanks

Does your truck take the longer ones to lower it. I believe they changed how they are set up sometime. I had an 04 that took the short shackles and yes the drop was very minimal. But with my 07 it is going to take the longer shackles to drop it. They are really the way to go there appears to be plenty of room for that kind of drop. And you really arnt changing the suspension you are just adjusting the body hieght and how it rest areound the frame. The only thing that will really change is your bump stop distance, you will still have the factory travel just not the room for it to move freely with out bottoming out.
