Paintless dent removal

Anyone familiar with this and can it fix my ding?

Was at my sons little league baseball game last night and the front passenger door stopped a foul ball from cruising out of the parking lot. Just behind the ram2500 badge and up a couple of inches, I have a good ping-pong ball sized dent in about the dead center of the door. There is no creased metal nor loss of paint, just a round dent pushed into the door about 1/4" deep.

Will they have to dismantle the door if this process will even work and any idea what someone might charge for this? I have a $500 insurance deductible but surely would figure that it would not cost that much to remove one dent.

Thats what I do for a living, sounds to me like it might be a little on the deep side. But its hard to tell without seeing it. if its a fixiable deal then it should cost around 100 to 150 at the most. Hope this helps.

I just used dent wizard on my truck.. My dent sounds about the same as yours except it was done by my knee..

They did an amazing job for $159.00. Can't tell it was ever dented. They put their tool down in the door from the window opening.. Didn't have to take off the door panel and it only took him about 15 minutes..

they are all across the US. their number is 1-800-dentwiz (for the z i used 9 and it worked).

These places do great work. I have had vehicles that were damaged by hail, and thought they were a lost cause. BOY was I wrong. My damage was repaired and I could not tell it even happened in the first place.

I personally have never seen a paintless repair that couldn't be seen. But I have a very perticular eye.

What type of dent can't they remove? My wife got dinged by either a door or shopping cart. Couldn't have been a better hit, dead on a body line. It looks pretty bad, not deep, just right on a sharp door line (2006 Accord).

Can the door dents that aren't nice "pings" out in a field of sheet metal?

the DentDr here loacally will either come in through the top by the window or drill a small hole through the bottom of the jam and go in that way. It takes awhile to massage it out with the tools they use and it costs $75 for baseball sized dents and $50 for smaller "dings". I went to WalMart and bought a $25 "DingKing". Best investment I have ever made. Pulled several goat inflicted dents from a triple black 99 beetle and all sort of shapes and sizes from my buddies rigs and mine with little or no noticable damage afterwords. If I were you I would get one of those and see if you can't take care of it yourself first. If it don't get it all out you re only into it $25 and it will probably cost you less to have a pro finish it off.

About the only thing they can't fix is actual paint damage or if the dent is so big that the edges crease, but then you usually have paint cracking anyway. If it's a 'smooth' dent, they should be able to get it out.

Someone backed up with their wheels turned and put their rearview mirror into the side of our truck when it wass 2 months old. We got a quote from a body shop for $800. We called my favorite dent guy and asked him to look at it. It was about the size of a football. It was a huge dent. The dent guy said he wanted to try it, if he couldn't get satisfactory results, he would charge nothing as he was up for a challenge, but if he could get it out, it would be $400.

He got it out to the point that nobody that didn't know it was there would ever notice. There was an ever so slight dip in the body line because the dent was right on the line. it even took me a while to notice because you could only see it from a certain angle and only if the sun was low in the sky and shining right on it.

A good dent repair guy is amazing.. but it's a true skill. There are good guys and there are not so good guys. Results may vary wildly.

I saw the work of a very skilled PDR guy, and even looking at it from different angles, I couldn't see where the small ding had been. The guy who owns this car is a perfectionist, and even he couldn't detect it when done. I think the results can vary quite a bit depending on the dent, and who is fixing it.

I am on the frequent Dent Removal Sheet with Dr Dent in my area. Been there 5 times in the last 2 years, three from Home Cheapo carts and inconsiderate a-holes or their wives. Last guy actually was running from me and a couple of guys that saw it happen(I was just comming out).
70 Bucks later and 30min of time and nowhere to be seen. I recommend you go for it. Good Luck!

I am working on the theory that my truck is a pickup, and therefore looks better with dents... that way I don't go crazy every time I look a new one.. Just hauled a fiver 2500 miles, and the ridiculously high bed on this truck got 3 more dents... (it tangles up with the trailers on odd angle turns..) fortunately it hasn't damaged the trailer, just the bed rail... I intend to rip this silly bed off, throw it away, happily, and put what a dually should have on... a flatbed.. no more dings, no more tangled trailers..

it may fall under comprehensive and the detuctible may be half as much. double check. but i agree the dent dudes can do wonders.
