painting upper front bumper piece
My truck is silver and has the chrome front bumper. The silver painted part has paint peeling from rocks and looks bad. What paint can I use on that stuff? I was going to remove it, sand it and paint it black. Anything special?

You can use any paint you want but the most important thing is to get the piece prepped correctly if you want decent results. I would fill in peeled areas with filler primer and then get the entire bit smooth for paint. You could rattle can it but I personally would use a couple of coats of urethane automotive paint and be done.

I'm going to Linex mine - it's beat to you know what from the previous owner, but still intact and straight. I'm also going to do the rear bumper which is painted to match, but I put a nice scuff in it recently. I'm also thinking about doing the rockers front to back - they've taken a beating from the oversize MT's tossing rocks up there. I'd really like to do only about 3" of the rockers, not up to the crease in the panel like most do. Has anyone else tried this?

I thought about the linex stuff on the bumper cover, too. I'm not sure I want to blackout my entire front bumper yet. Mine is not a sport, it just has a body colored panel on top of chrome bumper. I may see how much a black panel is from an aftermarket company.
