over head mpg ?
Anybody know if the mpg display on the overhead is always in u.s. gallons? Going to test drive a truck and was going to use this feature as a rough guide to make sure i don't get one of those fuel hogs. Not sure if they do a conversion when they cross the border or not. It's a early 04 with the 305-555 so it should be alright, but you never know. Thanks.

If you are not on metric it is in miles to the US gallon. in metric it is litres per hundred kilometers (what ever that means) no wonder we still use miles to the gallon. if you want to figure it in miles to the Imperial gallon multiply the US read out by 1.2

I try not to watch that thing. It'll put a cramp in your foot trying to keep it from going down. Then you'll get frustrated and say ugly words and turn it back to compass/temperature. Yep it displays both languages.

Thanks folks I knew it displayed in litres and gallons, just wasn't sure if the gallon part was u.s. or imperial, thought maby they would program it for imperial gallons once they knew the truck was destined for canada. So whatever it says on the overhead is in u.s. gallons, and seeing as how are gallons are a little bigger i will actually be getting a little better mpg than what it says. Hey wait a minute, most of you report that the overhead usually shows about 2 or 3 mpg better than hand calculation, maby this thing is set for imperial gallons after all I know what you mean about the litres per 100 km. i can't figure it out either, then again i'm nudging 60 so i still convert everything back to mpg, inches, feet, pounds etc. Jeez my oil pressure guage goes to 275 something or other, wonder what that is? Funny how they could convert that over to metric
