Thanks Hub. Rather than fooling around with it, I just may bring it back to the dealer and let them mess with it.

I did what testing I could do without any books or anything. Just guessing I did remove it and OHM it out, it was about 15kom @ garage temp which was about 38-40 deg F Then as I warmed it up in me hands the resistance dropped to about 11kohms @ a temp I dodn't know.
Thats why I said I need a service manual. Is that where you got that test or do you work on them for a living and have access to other data?

I'm pretty sure there is a TSB or something that explains this. The ambient temp reading holds initially when started so that the CEL light doesn't come on because of the difference in ambient and battery/intake temp sensor. It takes about a minute for it to start adjusting to actual temp.

It helps reduce the following codes:

P0071 - Inlet Air Temperature Sensor Rationality
P0111 - Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Rationality
P0514 - Battery Temperature Sensor Rationality

Every morning when I leave my garage, it stays at the same temp for about a mile then starts rising/dropping to actual ambient temperature.

Online versions of the service manuals can be found on the internet. Google is your best friend.

Mine does the same thing. Usually takes a few miles to see it drop or rise. After that it seems pretty accurate and has never "stuck" or seemd to give a false reading. Maybe I just got lucky though. Knock on wood but mines has no issues.

its sticks..

Mine stuck this summer after taking it thru a carwash. Stuck for 2 days. kept reading 88F when it was over 100F. It works ok now and is always within 2 degrees of the reported temps on the local radio.

Thanks Hub I will google it. Today it seems to be almost normal within 2-4 deg
Hope it stays or gets better, it was dead nuts on.
