Temp display in overhead console

I have a 99, 2500. I can not figure out how to get the temp display. I have the compass in degrees 1-360 and the south, north, east and west, but cannot find the outside temp mode. Any ideas.

Try hitting and holding in both buttons at the same time. I think you are in a temporary mode when it shows the degrees for the compass. Either that or hold one button in for about 5 seconds. If I remember correctly one of those should work....

Huh? These don't display direction in degrees. At least I've never seen one do that. They DO display direction AND degrees on the same screen though.

N/S/E/W/NE/NW/SE/SW is what it will display. The button on the right changes what is displayed. Button on the left changes between american/canadian.

The do, in fact, display the degrees, but only as a temporary display. I think it looks pretty cool, but I think mine always defaulted to the NSEW display after I shut the truck down and restarted it. It's called "compass in degrees" and this is what the service manual says about it:
"When the compass
unit is placed in the compass/compass in degrees
mode, the compass will display the direction the
vehicle is heading using the eight major compass
headings and in degrees (0 to 359 degrees). North is
0 degrees, East is 90 degrees, South is 180 degrees
and West is 270 degrees. It will not display the headings
in minutes or seconds."
I would stick with holding either the left or right button down for 2 seconds to switch between them....
