Optima Batteries

I know, I know probably a bad post but I use Optima batteries in my race cars and wondering what Optima works in these Rams? What are you all using Red, Yellow or Blue? My 04.5 has the originals in it and I cannot imagine how much longer they will last.

they are spendy but look at Odyssey http://www.odysseyfactory.com/batteries.html

i am looking at the 2150 group 31. going to have to "massage" the battery trays for them to fit but @ 2150 cranking amps for 5 seconds and 1150 CCA i think the ol dodge will like me and will be able to do any electronics I want without worry

check out the group 31 here http://www.odysseyfactory.com/hdspecs.html

madhat you know how AZ eats batteries here don't you. I use Lifeline they hold up for a longggg time. There built like the odyssey's cbrahs posted. Mine here in AZ have gotten me 7 years they are pricey but better then every 2 years here on normal batterys. I paid 247 for life lines and 114 for Checker battery's

I just put two red-tops into mine and couldn't be happier. I already had the Optima's floating around so the price was right.

I have the die hards in mine. I used to manage a Sears Automotive and liked the warranty. If I had the cash I would have put in the Sears Platinum. I have one in my Jeep Offroader and it has held up great!

Go buy them at Sears. The Platinum line is an Odyssey with different paint, and a lot cheaper.

I have had Optima's and they are great batteries, but I now have the Sears Platinums and my dad had Optima's in his 06. My 05 cranks MUCH faster than his 06. The Odyssey's have about 200 CCA more per battery than OEM or Optimas.

I replaced my OEM units with Diehard Platinum batteries in my 01.5 in 2007. They have performed flawlessly and feel that they are well worth the extra cost. I recently replaced the battery in my wife's car with a platinum. When the time comes to replace the OEMs in my 03, I will certainly replace them with Platinums. EnerSys is the parent company of Odyssey, which manufactures them for Sears.

I don't care for optimas anymore... They were a really good battery when they came out but they seem to die quickly now. My friend goes through two yellow tops a year and my race car killed a brand new 31 series yellow top in a year.

I run the replacements sold at oriely's. I forget who makes them but they are a good battery for a great price. I have two in my truck and two in my boat with no problems so far.

I have (2) red tops 34 series, working GREAT. They came shipped with the group 65 adapters (blue wings that snap right in) from amazon $305 delivered.

Stock passenger battery negative terminal cracked around the base of the post, spilling acid on the turbo, frame and boost hose. (ate whole in hose)

Same here, the only thing Optimas did for me was make my wallet lighter... Went through 2 in less then 1 year on my jeep (shorted cells)... sales guy told me something was wrong with my jeep... switched to over to regular battery and haven't had a problem since (4 years and going)...

I was told when Optima's came out they where the best, but then got bought by another company and "mass production" took priority over quality... I wouldn't put an optima in a riding lawn mower at this point...
