Only one key, no PIN

OK, stupid tax.......Lost one key and only have one other original. I bought the truck with 180km on it, so technically "used", and checking all the original paperwork, I can't find the PIN for the keys. I have everything else it seems, just not the important item.

What now? Anyone been here and know what to do to get a new key cut and operational? I searched and read of one person getting a key cut that the dealership stated they "couldn't program it" but it worked. Not the option I would count on.

Without the two Sentry keys for that vehicle available only a dealer or someone with a DRB3 scan tool can program the extra key.

Another option is taking the remaining Sentry key and mounting it inside the steering column next to the ignition switch after having new non Sentry keys cut. This way regular keys can be used to start the truck.

Tks Mikey, I gathered the dealer programming from the manual but I thought they needed the 4 digit PIN for the keys. The key on the column is brilliant. I wondered what other options might be possible. I mean, what would happen if you lost all keys? How do you fix that?

I'm going to see a dealer today and will post any news for future reference in this thread.

Confirmed with the dealer that they only need one key and the reference in the manual to the original PIN being needed is not correct. He identified the key type with the VIN and he can program with the truck at the shop.

Cheers.
