Key Programing with ONE key and remote start?

So, I purchased this new (to ME) 07 mega cab. And the PO forgot to give me the spare key,, and now has lost it. So,, Off to the dealer I went knowing that it was going to cost me large..

The truck has remote start, but I did not get the key with the remote start fob.

I was hoping to get the dodge chip key with the 2sec remote start button right on the key from the dealership,, Its a mopar brand remote start system. The parts dept could not find a part number for the key I was looking to get. And the service dept said they could not program a fob to work with existing remote start system.

So I went to a stereo (car alarm) shop. They said no problem, ordered me a fob, and then when they tried to program it, it would not work. However, I have an app today and they are going to put it on their computer and program the fob for me. So for $75 I should have remote start working and it also operates the locks, but has no key on it.

Therefor, I still need a spare key. I looked around, and found this site that sells the keys and even has the one the dealer could not find for me. fobkeyless.com/dodge-ram-durango-dakota-integrated-remote-head-key-with-start.html

Even tho it states its for a 2007 -2009, I know half way through 07 they changed the trucks, so dose anyone have the key with the remote start button working on an early 07 5.9L?

Second question..

I was reading some other posts and found this about a ford vehicle. In his post he says he purchased two keys from amazon $20 ea. Then had them cut. Then did this to get them to program using only one original key.

" I used the remote start to start the car, let it run for 5 seconds, tapped the brake to kill the engine. Then put my only working key in the ignition, went to the on position for 5 seconds, then off. Then I put the new key in and went to on for 5 seconds, then I pulled the key out. I put the key back in and it started. I programmed the third key by using the 2 keys"

Has anyone tried this on our Dodge. The rest of that post indicated that the remote start was installed the same way as mine, with a wire wrapped around the ignintion from a box attached to the steering column. And the box simulates a key in the ignition for the remote start to work. The box maintains the anti theft by not letting the truck continue to run, unless another proper key is inserted into the ignintion, as apposed to tapping a spare sentry key to your steering column.
