I saw a thread recently about getting some spare valet keys made and thought I would chime in.

I went to the local dealership this morning for service. While there, I asked about getting a couple of spare valet keys made in case I lock myself out of the truck. The counter rep said, "sure, $5 each" - so I got two.

So, for those folks who had to go to Walmart or other places, check the dealership and see if you can get your spare key made there.

I got my key made at a local locksmith for $1.00. Didn't realize that the key wouldn't start the vehicle. Irritated me. I had my wife leave the pickup, and went to start it, got in fine, NO START!! Had to learn that the hard way. I just thought that thing was for unlocking the doors, not an actual electronic key,

 

Yea...just for unlocking truck...I keep one in my wallet.
Will NOT start truck.
