No Wait to Start light

EDIT -- Upside down L's that is....

Thanks, thought it was odd that I was in my solitude.

On the 06's the WTS light only comes on when temps are cold enough for the manifold heater to be needed. If it doesn't come on, light it up! It's normal for 06's.

Mine comes on every morning on my initial start up, but then again it is getting down to high 20s low 30s. This is the only time I see it which is how I was used to starting a warm/hot diesel.

My dealer told me that I didn't have to wait for my w-t-s light at all regardless of the temperature. Needless to say, I read the manual and got the correct information...It would be nice if they new about the product they are selling...
There are two lights I pay attention to...
One is the grid heater indicator. It's yellow, toward the left side beneath the speedometer, and looks like a little heater coil inside of a trapezoidal frame. This indicator only comes on in cooler weather.
The other is red, toward the right side beneath the tachometer, and is perfectly round. This indicator comes on every time you turn the key, and remains on for a few seconds.
Right or wrong, it's been my practice to wait for the red light to extinguish before starting. I've been told that this gives the ECM a chance to look at its sensors and get ready for engine operation, but that could be incorrect.
