No more mega cab
Hey junkie,
What are you referencing when you say that the MC will still be made in the 3/4T & 1T models for '09? The last of anything I read on the '09s was over on allpar.com and it wasn't really elaborating on the 3/4 or 1T, but that's been a while ago. I like to keep up on this because I'll be looking to unload my '95 dually to get an '09 or '10 model 4x dually. Thanks

Yes, Dodge will continue to offer the Mega Cab in the 2500 and 3500 series, since they are not changing body styles until 2010. The 1500 Series will not see the Mega Cab any longer because Dodge will be using their new Crew Cab.
So, you still have one more year to purchase a Mega Cab. After the 2009 Model Year, the Mega Cab will be no more. Expect to see the new Crew Cab in the Heavy Duty models as well. (Hopefully Dodge will be offering the new Crew with a long bed in the Heavy Duty segment)

Now I'm going to have to go find it - I'll post it if/when I find it.

I read the same thing, but unfortunately I think the Mega is dead in 02...
Man - I might have to open my mouth and insert my foot. I can't find anything about the continuation of the Mega after the body style change (for the 3/4 and 1T) after 09 or 10.
Not that it matters to me too much, just so long as the crew cab has decent back seat room.

I still plan to have my MegaCab around in 2010, but IF I do decide to get a new truck and the MegaCab is not offered, then I will say bye-bye to Dodge and move a cab size up, bigger cab - bigger Cummins.
From what I have seen of the new boy style it does not excite me one bit. Pretty soon they will ALL look like one another with very little differences. I fully expect to see standard tranys go by the wayside as well. That will cinch my garage not having a Dodge truck in it. The hype about the new 6-speed auto is really being played to the hilt. While I realize that most of the new owner love the new auto tranny and the gearing, they have yet to go the distance down the road and be worked like a work truck. I refuse to have to go to the aftermarket and beef a new tranny up just to make the distance it should do from the start.
SOhappy - good thing a peanut farmer is not on the ticket eh? That might make your wildest nightmares return, reliving the late 80's, ugh. But then, we ARE reliving some of the same financial, oil, etc woes very similar to then right now. Of course, not sure what the ticket will actually look like, but not too distant a 2nd place from peanut farmer mentality anyway.

Well, atleast you can find a manual on a Dodge dealers lot...GM doesnt even offer them behind the diesel anymore, and 99% of Powerstrokes are automatic. Id bet its 60/40 split or close to it for Dodge...
