Nitto dura grapplers in the snow and ice?
I'm gonna need to replace my tires soon and want to go with 285/75/17s.I want the dura grapplers cause of the 3900lb load rating.I know the toyo open country a/t come in this size also, but they are a lot more spendy in Canada then the nitto's.
So now that winters over i'd like to here how the dura grapplers performed in winter conditions from anyone running these tires?
I live on Vancouver Island and we really don't get that much snow but do get a fair bit of ice.The stock BFG rugged trail tires performed quite well for me over the last few years in the winter,i hope to hear that the Dura grapplers will do the same.
Thanks

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...
We get very little ice or snow here in the desert but this past winter got pretty cold for about 2 weeks and we actually ended up with some icy roads for a few days. My Duras did real well. I am very happy with them.

I was very impressed with mine two winters ago here in the DC area when we got hit hard with record breaking snow fall. While others stayed home cuz they didn't want to chance it, I was out enjoying it.
They performed flawlessly in these pics. They would bite right in and go.

I've run the Dura's for about 35k miles so far in all types of snow and ice. They are pretty good BUT not as good as the TerraGrapplers BUT that is to be expected because the Terra's are much stickier and last nowhere near as long as the Dura's. I will be getting Dura's again if these ever wear out.

I've got the Dura Grapplers on my Dodge and Terra Grapplers on my 1500 Silverado. The Duras do pretty good in snow, better than I thought they would. The Terras are of course better in snow and offroad, they're quite a bit louder on the highway as well. I went with D rated Terras on the Silverado which made my ride just a bit more harsh, nothing bad though.
