Question Nitto Dura Grapplers - Need Feedback

I'm pretty much sold on the 285 75 17 on the stock wheel.

Now that they have been out a while how many miles do you guys have on them and how are they wearing?

How much have you paid for 4 of them installed?

Mail order or local tire shop?

Any problems or regrets?

Thanks for all replies good and bad. This is a lot of money and I want to make sure these are good tires.

Thanks,

Doug

I have the 70 series. (75's were on national back order when I got mine)

I have about 12k miles but they look brand new still. I have zero complaints about them.

As for price, I know a guy so I got a real good deal.

When I had my 06' those tires I had installed. Best set of tires I've ever owned.

I bought them online too. tirebuyer.com nobody could match their price with free shipping.

Great tire have about 45 thousand now, could maybe get to 50 but they would be bald. They were also the best on traction out of all three sets I have had. Lasted the longest out of original michelins, and pirelli scorpions balanced and have worn great.would recomend.

Thanks, that's all good positive feedback. So far I am not finding any of this size available. I guess they are sold out again. But I am going to keep looking. Best overall price for everything out the door is about $950 for 4 and that would be if I can find someone who mail orders to have them in stock. Local tire barn wants $1,250 out the door... Best online price is 765 but they force me to ship to a dealer and pay their tax and install which totals at around 980.

Anyone have a source for this size?

Their current price is $202. How long ago did you buy them?

I don't have many miles on mine, about 6000, still look new, but these things stick like super glue compared to the factory tires. I got mine through discounttiredirect.com and shipped to my local americas tire store. Same company and their prices won't be beat. I paid $870 or so but mine was the stock size.

I have almost 40,000 miles on my Dura Grapplers. They still have tread depth, I need to measure them to see what percentage is actually left. I plan to replace them with the exact same tire, since I haven't found ANY that I like better or that are rated for more weight. Zero complaints.

As I recall, I paid $202 each for mine, plus mounting, balancing & valve stems.

It's these or 19.5" commercial tires on Rickson wheels if you ask me. And the 17" Nittos offer you the option of airing them down when not hauling/towing.

That is exactly my feeling. I keep looking for used Ricksons but due to money am going to get the dura grapplers mounted on the 17's this time around. Glad to hear so much good about them. Still have not found the 285 75 17. They say they are sold out again but I keep looking for some inventory that might be left somewhere. I have Toyo 285 70 17 now and the 75 would be 1 inch bigger and help slow my rpms a little and the larger tire will look a little better IMO on the Mega cab 4x4.

I have the 285/75s and really like them too. They look great on the truck. IMO, it's the perfect size tires for these trucks....

The Dura Grapplers will be my next tire once I wear out the Toyo AT's.

I put the 285/70-17 DuraGrapplers on in June of 08 and paid $987 for everything locally. I have around 50K on mine. I have zero complaints even in 14" of snow. I am guilty of only rotating them once also.

I just went out and took this pic.
