Thumbs up Pics of my new 285x75x17 Nitto Dura Grapplers

Finally got some new shoes for my baby this past weekend.

Bit the bullet and purchased a set of Nitto Dura Grapplers in size 285x75x17. Truck is stock with NO leveling kit and I have had no rubbing issues whatsoever although I haven't gone through any extreme articulation yet.

Ride is very smooth whether on the interstate or country roads with air pressures set to 62psi front and 55psi rear. And quiet.... Holy cow these tires make no noise at all!! Racked up about 250 miles on them this weekend and so far very impressed. Now I just need some rain and snow to try them out in!

Here are a few pics to digest. Please excuse the dirty truck as I took these as soon as it got home from the tire shop and didn't have time to shine it up.

These are going to be my next tires. I have the TerraGrapplers in 285/70. I have about 37,000 miles on them and might have 3000-5000 miles left of life in them. The Terra's are soft and sticky and worked well in all weather. I hope the Dura's are more "durable"... haha.
They look great on your truck, btw.

I have the same size in Toyo's. It looks great. Such a huge difference from those tiny little 265's.

A few more hundred miles and some wet weather along the way and still loving these tires. We've had some sporadic rain the last couple of days and even being aggressive on the silly pedal the tires have tons of grip.

Now it's time to save up for a new set of wheels and a MBRP dual exhaust system. May have to sell my old Toyota pickup that never gets driven to fund some more goodies. Paid $2,000 for it 4 years ago and got offered $2,500 for it a few months ago and haven't put any money in it except for a new clutch! But it's a good spare in case the wife's car or my truck are out of commission.

Tires look great on the truck...glad to hear you like them. One of these days I'll get around to purchasing a set for the truck.

I have the same exact tires. I will say they have done good except for in snow. I was out in a snow storm last winter with my boss, where we had a bunch of drifting on the roads, he has a 07 Chevy 2500 with the duramax. I had to run 4wd to keep from spinning the tires every drift I hit, where he said he never used it at all. Now granted he may have been screwing with me and it is a different truck, he has Firestone Transforce on his truck. But needless to say I wasnt too impressed with mine. I will most likely kill this set then move to a Terra or Trail from Nitto.

I have the 265/70R/17 Dura Grapplers on mine. They have about 20k miles on them and should get atleast twice that amount. The thing I like is they don't throw stones like any of the other tires I have run.

Firestone Transforce AT's are about the worst loose snow tires I've run (right next to their older brother the Firestone Steeltex). My Dodge had almost new Transforce 265's when the snow hit last year. Even airing the fronts down to 40psi and rears to 30psi, they were not good. Just a hard highway compound I think. Couldn't turn my 3 place sled trailer around in a foot of new snow in 4wd until I aired them down.
DMaxes have a factory locker in the rear that locks up hard at the first hint of wheel spin. That helps. My 02 DMax was way better in 2wd on snow and ice than the Dodge. So much so, that I considered swapping rear axles before I sold it.
