New Mega cab

I need to mount my brake contrller in the new truck. I will probalby get a prodigy brake controller. Where have you guys found to be the best location to mount it? There is some strorage space under the radio. Can the controller be mounted horizontally?

Also, do I need to just plug and play or is there a fuse that needs popped in inthe fuse panel. My turd had a fuse I had to put in.

Thanks,

ron

If your truck came with the Tow package, there should be a harness pack in the glove box. One end has bare wires used to connect to your controller and the other end has a blue connector that plugs into a port down by your parking brake on the fire wall. As far as where to mount your controller, that a personal preference. I have mine monted on the dash down the right side of the steering wheel.

Is the brake contorller contector under the dash a square blue plug? It appears tied to other wires?

The pigtail adapter is not square it is a straight 4 wire plug.

Thanks

no, the connector is very hard to find..
Its behind the parking break lever, against the firewall.
Its almost impossible to see, you need to feel around for it.

I think I found it. Looks like a blue connector attached to the side of the large white wirring harness. Its up aggainst the firewall pointing down. Looks like it stays attachede and the wires from the contrller need to be fished down there.

Is this right?

Thanks guys!

Sounds like you got the right plug in the truck. I mounted mine under the dash on the right side of the steering wheel. I mean by under the dash, that there is a 1 inch piece of the dash that angles straight back to the motor. It was just right for the moun ting bracket and if I remove it someday you would have to lay on the floor to see a hole .

I just put my prodigy in with the extra Dodge adapter for $10 (just ask for it when you order it) - plug into the tow package plug just behind the parking brake and the other end into the back of the prodigy - DONE! I had the harness with the truck but did not want the hassel of connecting wires - $10 and just plug it in is money well spent for me. I mounted mine right of steering wheel like everyone else and works just great.

Good Luck
