Need help with rough stiff ride?

I have an 2008 2500 QC SB 4x4 6.7L SLT with replacement front bumper & back bumper.

The rough ride is about to kill my back. Rides like a dump truck. Any time I hit bumps it feels like there is no suspension. Also makes my dash do a loud thump & squeak. I am running stock bfg's at 50 psi. (low as I can go with the tire light).

Any suggestions? I spend 2 hours every day commuting is the truck and the ride is really starting to get old.

Thanks!

had the same problem-and a lot of others told me to run 45psi in the tires & start replacing parts.
Easiest thing i found to do was to increase the load in the truck. Some people pour concrete into the bed of their trucks (Hoss) while others simply put in removable weight-like gravel, plate steel or even load up the quad. Makes aworld of difference.

Shocks are probably the best thing to change out for ride quality-but might want to get a seat cushion.....

Call Don Thuren @ Thuren Fab and tell him what your needs are. He will set you up with a system that will blow you away. Check him and his stuff out @ DTX Dodge Trucks Extreme.

Add weight to the bed. I saw sand tubes at Lowe's, you can fill with sand to make 60lbs. Probably need 400lbs to make it nice. I had 600 lb car rotisserie in the bed this fall and didn't want to take it out because it rode so smooth.

Thuren pkg, the above, and some TIMBRENS for xtra-heavy loads (removed otherwise). Air ride seats. Ultimate old mans truck. Do 600-mile days instead of 300.

Otherwise, go to the sand/gravel yard, "scale in", load sand, "scale out" and adjust weight until under GVWR (9,000-lbs or so).

The stock 2500 suspensions are so mushy, you're bottoming out on the bumpstops with the extra iron on each end. A Carli starter kit will help enormously. www.thecarlisuspension.com. Don Thuren can improve on it but it'll take a bit more coin. Specially valved King 2.5's vs. Bilstein 5100's=no contest.
