Rough Ride with Bilsteins? Help

I put a pair of Bilstein 5100 shocks on the front of my '01 late last year and from day one I noticed the ride was much rougher than with the original shocks I took off with 70,000+ miles on them? I read a lot of good things on here about the Bilstein 5100 shocks and was "shocked" at how the ride actually got worse. I have 2" leveling blocks in the truck now and was thinking of taking them off and trying a set of KYB Monomax shocks? Do you think either of these changes will help? Or does are there KYB Monomax shocks that would work with the leveling blocks?

Thanks

I put Monomax's on my truck when I put the leveling kit on, but the fronts were too short. They kept bottoming out on me. I replaced the fronts with the 5100's and noticed a smoother ride instantly. The Monomax's took turns a little flatter, but bumps hit pretty hard due to their firmness. I still think the ride could be better so I will be looking into Kore kits as funds allow.

Ive got the bilsteins too and I think the problem is with the springs since theyre made to support a fully loaded truck.
Maybe a better solution is soft coils and leafs with air bags for hauling?

I installed a set of Bilstein HD's (blue and yellow), I didn't see the big WOW factor that everyone was talking about. I didn't notice much difference over the stock shocks. Only been on the truck about a year and a half and they ride worse than my stock shocks did with about 70k on them . I'm currently looking for sumthin to replace them with.

Hink....I'm with you. I think my stock shocks with 70K on them road better than the Bilstein 5100's I put on the front of my truck last June? I just got done removing the front leveling blocks on my truck today and installed KYB Monomax shocks so we'll see if there is any difference?
