Need Desperate Help
Can anyone help me here. My 2003 diesel Ram has a fuse box(power distribution center) problem or at least thats what the dodge dealership tells me. I've been looking everywhere and I can't seem to find one. Does anyone know where I can get a new or used box. Please help. Thanks.
Might try www.moparpartsamerica.com. They don't list everything on their page. May need to call. Hope you find something. I paid $242 at the dealer for a FCM.

Anybody have their dead IPM/PDC/FCM they want to mail to me? I'd really like to disassemble one.
From the 03 service manual:
"The Integrated Power Module (IPM) is a combination of the Power Distribution Center (PDC) and the Front Control Module (FCM)."
So, the PDC is the box which contains the fuses and relays. This is a pretty simple circuit and if something in it goes bad its a matter of replacing cheap fuses or relays. Conceivably there are fusible links or even circuit traces that burn, still easily repairable.
The FCM is a different animal:
"The Front Control Module (FCM) is a micro controller based module located in the left front corner of the engine compartment.....The front control module controls power to some of these vehicle systems electrical and electromechanical loads based on inputs received from hard wired switch inputs and data received on the PCI bus circuit (J1850)."
While I do no have specific familiarity with the Dodge controller and PCI bus, I do extensive experience with microcontrollers in general and have a pretty good understanding of various failure mechanisms. From the failures described by different owners, I think this FCM is repairable.

I'm working on an external relay circuit for mine. I bought a "mini add-an accessory" fuse jack and a new relay yesterday. I'm going to tap the wire in the C1 connector going back to the trailer plug, and pin #34 of the FCM (that'll be the hard part). Hopefully I'll have time tonight to assemble it all. Let you guys know how it goes! It should work, unless the problem is in the FCM and not the PCM.

My dealership is telling me that my PCM is sending a signal to the IPM, but power is not coming out and now they want to replace my Integrated power module at price of $1,039.15 (parts, labor, and tax).
