Are my battery blanket's electric

I'm looking at the factory winter kit. It has electric battery blanket's. My truck came with blanket's from the factory, but I don't think the are electric since I had to add the cord for the heater and didn't notice any other wire's. It's cold and raining right now or else I'd go pull a battery and see. I assume these would attach to the block heater. Is this something I even really need. Anyone have the blanket's that aren't electric. Thank's.

For realy cold -20 the batteries can have as little as 20% of there capacity for starting , since the main thing that starts the diesels is compression then the eng. needs to turn over at a min. RPM and more is better , I used to have a mobile service buis. and started a lot of cars & trucks down to -35 F sometimes colder and the best way to start was to get the batteries warm , there's a lot of talk about diesel gelling and the cold batteries were the problum more than gelling every time , or maybe with warm batteries it turned over fastenough to over come. If you had a factory setup then you would find wires tied into the block heater cord.
