Re:Missing body plugs!!!!!

You all got me curious so I had to wander out there to take a peek.
I bought my truck near the end of May of this year. Plugs ARE there....
Also checked to make sure I had the cast steel alternator bracket, rather than the stamped steel thingy and sure enough, I do....

DF5152, Couldn't you seal all around anything you put in those holes to prevent any dirt, water etc from going in?

Re:Missing body plugs!!!!!

i had the factory tape instead of the plugs and used the tape for now just looking for a more permanent fix not sure the tape will stand the test of time im gonna give it some time and then put some POR15 over the area and go from there.

Re:Missing body plugs!!!!!

Mine's a June baby and it's got tape. When that tape comes off those rockers are gonna fill with water and they'll be rusted out in no time. I'm gonna make sure to get the plugs (and then seal around them) even if I have to pay for them. They are definately not drain holes, since they are not at the bottom of the panel.

Re:Missing body plugs!!!!!

After seeing this I went out & checked mine (built in June) & thet're missing!!
Tape is not acceptable on a truck this expensive, it won't last long & then it'll fill with water & crud & start rusting.
I'm going to my dealer today & raise hell!!

Re:Missing body plugs!!!!!

Well I went to my dealer & didn't need to raise hell!!LOL
They had never heard of this before & were surprised.
There is no TSB on this (I checked with a friend in the service dept & he looked for it).
They ordered the 16 plugs & will pay for them & I'll put them in.

Are there any other plugs besides the ones on the backside of the rocker panels I should check out??

There is going to be a lot of pi$$ed off people when their rocker panels start rusting out in a couple of years!!

Re:Missing body plugs!!!!!

By the time they have rusted through enough to have to replace them the warranty will be up and it will be our problem. I bet they won't issue a TSB on this one. Those that figure it out will go get the plugs, and those that don't will have rusted rockers...
