missing utility body...

So i remember seeing those factory custom toolbox beds they put on a truck maybe a few year ago... well i can't find one anywhere!!! I was windering what one of these beds might look like on a first gen... as most beds don't look right on most first gens without other modifications.

If anybody has a picture or maybe a link to this mystery box please let me know.
Thanks,
Nick

The 1st ones you posted on the new rams are factory installed.

There was never a utility body bed made to look like a factory bed if thats what you're thinking of., like where the bed looks like a bone stock bed but has compartments in the side of it.

I know that the standard companies (knapheid and reading) make utility beds that look MORE like a standard bed. But they still look a little funny. A chevy around here has one.

Back in the '60's-'70's you could get a Dodge truck with storage compartments in the bedsides. I believe Ford and GM did it was well.

Not a very common thing to see anymore. I had a '74 W200 that had storage boxes on both driver and passenger sides in front of the rear wheels. I may have a pic of the box, I swapped it onto a project truck a few years ago but it is long gone. I'll see what I can find.

thanks fury, i appreciate it. It would be nice to have something extra and still be able to use the 8' bed(i know they invented the extended cab for that).

At of all my pics, I only have one of that box. But atleast its something, had the same storage box on the other side. Looking back I wish I had saved that bed, but I guess we can't have everything.

I saw one on ebay once on a 2nd gen that had folding sides. the inside of the bed went clear to where the wheel wells would be, and it was all storage inside. I know they are not made anymore though. I believe it was all fiberglass.
