I had read on another website that some trucks that were built in May had been shipped without 16 body plugs on the underside. I checked mine and they were missing. The holes were covered with BLACK TAPE!!!!!!!<br>I called the dealer and told him about this and he thought I was nuts, Just like I was when I asked him to check the rear for oil. I told him to check his stock in the lot and sure enough he found some trucks with and some trucks without. crawl under ur truck, under driver side, look at where the body of truck ends (rocker panel) on the inside of the body (opposite of frame rail) there are holes that are supposed to have plugs in em, not tape covering them.

 

What purpose do the plugs serve??

 

I didn't think real diesels had plugs?

mine are missing too &gt; called my dealer and am going in on monday to show them. the service manager cant believe they are all missing. i thing im gonna try to get some free oil changes out of them cause they didnt do anything i wanted before i picked up the truck like check the diffs and not put there advertising decal on the truck....

 

Got a call from my dealer today and he said the truck is enroute! yayyy! Anyway, I mentioned this thread and he said he would make sure they were ordered just in case. He also said that my truck has a &quot;build date&quot; of 5/24. He thought that a check of this issue might be the reason it was delayed in shipping. Should have her here this week, ready for pick up the next. I can't get her this week because I am leaving the state on business. :'(

My truck was orderd 5/07, built between 5/21 and 5/27 and shipped out on 5/29.

Just picked up my truck yesterday<br><br>Plugs missing, they ordered them after I pointed this out<br><br>Differentials filled to bottom of drain holes

 

went to dealer today they said that this is the way they are doing things now by putting the tape on well after going back and forth with the service manager then going to the sales manager i got them to get the plugs but i have to install them myself, which i prefer anyway.....I had told them that if they could get me sofe documentation from the corporate office say that the tape superceeds the plugs i would not have a problem...but they wouldnt do that. the tape is on there prety good though...<br><br>on another note i asked about bombing and if they would honor the warantee they said they have no problem with air filter sytems exhausts and tire wheel upgrades. they said to remove any boxes prior to service. and i wil have no problems. I also asked about there oil change prices its 50buck for an oil change and they said they use mobile synthetic. I had told them that cummins doesnt recomend synthetic untill 20k he just said they use it anyway....dont know what to make of the service dept. Sales was great.
