Nice Job! I also have been looking at adding a lite to the mirrors. How did you get the wiring thru the mirror housing. I can't seem to get it to separate enough to feed a wire thru it. I found a nice little grote lite with a rubber gromet that will fit farely flush and look somewhat like factory installed.

When I thought about doing this, my idea was to just put some amber lights behind the mirror and let them illuminate past the gap between the mirror and the housing. It would be pretty simple to try this without making any permanent modifications and it would have a stock appearance. Then you could remove it before selling or trading the truck without it becoming a possible turn off to the prospective buyer.

I cant wait to see if the new 2010 tow mirrors (with led lights and puddle lights) will retro fit onto the 03-09 models. They look like they may with a little work.

I would love to know if the 09-10 mirrors will fit the 3rd gen trucks. I love the look of them as well as the integrated signals. Has anyone does this yet? Will the 09-10 mirrors fit 3rd gens? I may have to go to the dealer when I get back in towen and check it out........

The 4th gen mirrors will NOT fit on the 3rd gen doors. I suppose any thing is technically possible with enough effort, but they would be far from a bolt on swap. The mirrors, arms and mounts are different in just about every way.
