Just made round trip from Raleigh,NC to Columbus,OH. approx. 1,000 mi. round trip. to columbus avg. 23.2 back to raleigh,approx 1,000lbs. in bed avg. 21.8 these numbers are all by the overhead computer. but I havy hand calculated many times in the over 40,000 mi. and it is accurate. but I'll do it by hand when I fill up tomorrow just to make sure. I think it might be getting broken in. Great truck, and I can proudly say it is a DODGE.

 

It's hard to believe the variation in mpg's these rigs make. I can hardly believe a 4x4 can get such good mileage, but I think it's great, and I'm very envious. do you baby it?

 

I get 24 at 1800 RPM with mine. Hard to stay at 65 though. I get 18MPG at 85MPH.....2400RPM.

 

Hardly,I drove it like I stole it since I bought it new in Jan.06. it almost always has something behind it weighing 6,000-8,800 lbs. made 2 round trips to west coast through the rockies,and sierra nevada's towing all the way. recent trip I posted about speed was pretty much the speed limit
65-70 except in work zones where it was what it was. 95% highway. by the way I filled it up this morning,and did the hand calc. and it was very close to the overhead as usual. This truck will be mine for a long time. also it is completely stock.

 

Mine gets 16 at 65. Hoping the XZT will help some
