MBRP TIP ??'s

Hey Guys, fellow modders, this time I have a cosmetic question.

I'm thinking of adding a MBRP Stainless Tip, trying to decide between the 12" Dual Wall Straight or the 12" Dual Wall Angled. Heads up Larry - order on it's way SOON !!!

So, anyone have some pics of theirs you'd want to share with me to help me decide??

Also, please tell me about installing it - is it hard to slide on? Does it go all the way over your end piece? How does it change the sound?

I have the ME kit, nice deep throaty tone, I am thinking the tip will make the tone even deeper.

TIA for any/all replies.

It should just slide over your pipe. I would cut some off your original piping off maybe only 4-5 inches just so you can't see any of it.. I am not sure if that small of a tip will make it deeper I know when I put my 24" tip on it sure made it deeper.. I personally like the angled cut and not the strait but that's my two cents!!!

Thanks for the reply. I still am undecided, will have to spend some time in the threads search to see if there are any pics in them. I too am a little more partial towards the angle cut, guess it will also be necessary to do a little cutting back of the stock tip area, although I was hoping that would not be necessary. Too bad they don't make an 18" tip, I'd go for that over the 12", I was also considering the longer 24" but the weight out at the end might be of concern.

Don't have a close-up of my tip but I have and prefer the angle cut.

I have the 5" dual wall angle cut. Slid right over the factory tailpipe. Here's a pic:

Slash cut...had about 3-4 inches of tailpipe removed to make it line up with the angle on the bumper though. Give me a sec, I'll get a pic for you...

I know you're interested in 5", but I've had a 15"x6" Flo-Pro and now a 20"x6" Hog, and the longer tips make the exhaust deeper and look better imho! Weight hasn't been an issue

Hog, Flo-Pro, Stock

WOW - some REALLY NICE LOOKING tips !!!!

I do like the looks of the HOG 20", looks like you put a band clamp on to hold it, does it come in SS with the tip or do you have to get that seperately?

I am still leaning toward the MBRP because it's end is finished so nicely and it is a double wall.

I put a 4 in./5 out. MBRP angled tip on my stock pipe and I had to pry the end of the tip open so that it would slide on the pipe.

I just added a couple of the straight cut dual wall mbrp tips to my truck last night. The only issue I had was the drivers side pipe was about 6" longer than the pass. side and I had to grind the tang/flashing off of the slot that was cut in the tips to get them to slide on the pipes.
