Manually Setting...High Idle Problems

Gave the truck to the dealer to enable the High Idle. They told me that it is on.. but don't know why it will not manually set through the steering wheel cruze control. I have read the truck instruction manual on how to start it....nothing is working. An ideas on why/how I can't manually set my high idle?

Not sure on the 6.7 but if its the same as the 5.9s your G-56 is the problem. According to my local service dept it cannot be enabled just by turning it on in the ECU for safty reasons so there is just one extra but easy step. There are a couple threads on there that explans how its done on the 5.9 g-56, it may be the same. Do belive there is a just wire that needs to be grounded

Need to ground pin 22 on the ECM. Do a search in the 2007 6.7 section. That thread will take care of you.

Did it on the 07 that I made them take back when I found out the history on the truck. The tech said they enabled high idle but it didn't work. I got under the dash and finally found the green wire and grounded it and it worked great! Truck was a 6 speed. The wire was behind the bunch of wires behind the e brake pedal. Hard to find and very short. I finally unbolted the wire loom so I could strip the end and get a terminal on. I added a 6inch peice of wire to make it easier to reach a ground spot. Grounded it on one of the bolts for the loom I took off. Mark

I had to take my truck back twice for the high idle to work. They first they turned the feature on, and the second time they enabled the feature ( or so I was told).

OR, the dealer can install a neutral safety switch - one that will not enguage the high idle without the transmission in neutral. Cost is kind of high -$200+, but it works the way it was designed.

From what I understand, G56 5.9's, ground pin #22 ECM then if high idle is enabled in the ECM, it will work with the cruise control buttons.
G56 6.7's, ground out the green wire up by the ebrake under the dash, then it will work after being enabled.
