Loud Power Steering W/34,000 miles

So my 06 has had the loudest power steering, when just driving around. nothing to fast just into the driveway on off the freeway..I thought I was in a Ferd for awhile. So I take it to the dealer, they fix my busted drivers seat and ordered a module for my trailer lights. And the shocker to me was they replaced my power steering pump. Drives like dream now, you don't realize how comfortable the seats really are until you put 5,000 miles on with out your lumbar. Just kills your back, So if you have any problems take your Rig to the dealer. As crazy as I think I sound talking to my service rep about the odd problems I have on my truck, he doesen't question anything. Like he see a ram every day with the same problems. Sad as that sounds

What was wrong with your lumbar support? Did it keep going out of adjustment?

You could hear the whine of the pump when turning. Sometimes it would become hard to steer.

The reason the pumps go out is that the steering boxes bind when turning left. Turn your wheel all the way right then all the way left, it may bind at about the 3/4 mark turning left. I had my steering pump replaced and then this problem came up while I was backing my trailer in.

I took it back to the dealer and the diesel guy there told me it has been a common problem in the 06 and newer trucks. He also said that the high pressure hose on the power steering pumps leak on the 06 and newer trucks.

I still love my truck !
